What it Means When you Have Dreams of Water
If you find yourself dreaming of a body of water like a lake, pond, ocean, brook or any body of water you must also consider what else is in the scene. Often dreaming of water or drowning can be associated with a negative element of your life such as debt. On the other hand, when you have dreams of water where the water is clear and smooth it can be a good sign of things to come. Maybe you’re dreaming of water where you are actually in the ocean which can be connected with an emotional situation. If you having recurring dreams of water it means you have a good or bad problem(s), based on what is really on your mind. It can take on an entirely different meaning if you have dreams of water where you’ve been forced to move suddenly away from water that you have become accustomed to living around. You may experience this several times in your sleep in the beginning.
Dreaming of Water Interpretations
WATER
Dreams of water that is cold is a lucky omen for man, woman, or child; but throwing it on anyone portends that you will be unpopular. If you have dreams of water that is hot in any form, it predicts a season of great trouble, both socially and in business.
WATERFALLS
To see beautiful a waterfall in when you have dreams of water it is a sign that you will be introduced to a nice and gracious man or woman who will be exceedingly kind to you.
WATERMELON
Eating watermelon is also associated with dreams of water and points toward a cruise in southern waters. If you dream of snapping the seeds at another person, you will find a small sum of money. A watermelon on the vine portrays the idea that you should be on your guard.

POND
A clear pond in which there are swans means wealth through industry. To see the reflections of trees and clouds in a pond indicates that you will develop a genius for addressing audiences. A muddy pond seen in dreams of water is a sign of a hilarious time with professional people.
OCEAN
An ocean voyage in dreams of water denotes an escape from a troublesome person. To swim in the ocean is a meaning of opportunity to relax from your cares and worries. If you look on the ocean when it is calm is an still it may be a meaning of prosperity, but if the sea is angry/ rough, it may mean business depression.
LAKE
Dreaming of a stormy lake means a disaster that, if you do not let it overwhelm you, will lead to eventual victory. If you are sailing on it and are overturned, you will have family troubles as well. To sail on the calm waters of a lake in fine weather is an augury of peace and interest in life. Sailing on a lake by moonlight could mean happy love affairs.

STORMY WEATHER
Dreams of water that include you being caught in a storm like rain or snow usually ties into discontent over a period of time. You will only be able to overcome this when you gain control over you destiny.

BAPTISM
To see John the Baptist baptizing Christ in the Jordan, indicates you will have a desperate mental struggle. Dreams of water of a baptism signifies that your character needs strengthening. If you are an applicant for baptism, you will be in danger of humiliating yourself.

RAFTING
When you have dreams of water on a raft that is floating on a slow moving river indicates that your indolence is causing you to fall behind in the procession of life. If you have dreams of water, in your dream you build a raft and launch it on fast, light waters, you will have reason to feel excited about the future.
Some people don’t remember dreaming at night but all people dream. Think about it, what was the dream you had? Researchers today have various schools of psychology around the origin of dream meanings. The all offer theories about the meaning of dreams. It is human nature to wonder about the what dreams mean. All of the dreams we have contain psychic dream meanings. People that have recurring dreams or nightmares should be taken seriously and professional help should be sought . It is helpful sharing and learning the meaning of dreams. Interpreting dream symbols and analysis can be often attained through psychic readings. If you’re really curious about what does your dream mean psychic dream meanings can really be enlightening. I am always interested in deciphering dreams. If you feel as though you must have your dream translated feel free to post a comment and I’ll do my best.

When I was younger I used to have a reoccurring nightmare that I would be running through my grandmother’s mansion in the country part of North Carolina. It would be very late at night and I would be walking down winding staircases that leads to her ballroom. A woman in a huge black wedding dress would appear. She had a veil over her face so I never saw it. She would glide so slowly and smoothly like she was floating. She never spoke other than saying my name repeatedly in a low airy voice, and it scared the crap out of me.
I would run down the hallway to get away from her, and she would slowly walk but would keep up regardless of my speed. The dreams never lasted very long, just long enough for a sink full of water, a cup full of water, trash can full of water or once a toilet full of water to appear and no matter how small I would jump into it and the dream would be over and she would be gone.
I haven’t had these dreams for years, but they made a dramatic impact on my life. For YEARS I couldn’t wash my face because I would vividly see her in my head to be standing behind me when I would open my eyes. I take baths instead of showers to this day because of those dreams. I cannot close my eyes when I am bathing. When my son’s father and I got together I would ask him to stand behind me and place both hands on my back while I washed my face because it made me feel better. I had a lot of pimples when I was younger because it freaked me out so much.
I think of her often and wonder if she’s still looking for me. I don’t know why I can’t let it go, but sometimes I just have this feeling like it’s not over. I do wonder what it is that she wanted to tell me. I felt on every level of my beings awake and in sleep that she wasn’t happy to see me. I am 25 years old now and the first time I had it I was 5 years old. They continued until I was 14 but only happened 5-6 times. Even if I could set up a dream meeting I know I wouldn’t be too afraid. Any idea what this means or should I seek help from a shrink lol.
Thanks Caroline

Haha, no need for a shrink Caroline. Your inner being is talking to you. I can imagine your feelings.
I had this dream when I was in my 20s. It was about a silver haired lady that wore a red scarf. She sat in a courtyard surrounded by concrete walls. I would enter the courtyard each time knowing there was no escape. The woman would turn into a vicious cat. The cat would chase me back to the staircase I entered from.
I run up the staircase as fast as I can, never fast enough. The cat would latch onto my back before I ever reached the top. As the feline digs her sharp claws into my back. I turn around only to see chunks of flesh being stripped off me by this wild cat.
This dream reoccurred countless times. I was petrified each time I had this dream. I could not stop it. I knew what was going to happen each time but could not stop entering that damn courtyard. I also would love to know what it meant? I am 47 years old now and have not experienced this dream for years now.

Caroline,
it’s just my opinion, but I think that you have a deep guilt over something you did when you were 5 years old. The reason that you can’t get past it or resolve it is because in the moment you did something that you felt guilty about. It was powerful and you immediately felt that someone with authority was watching, waiting and even hovering over your shoulder waiting to discipline you. Remember that children often are conditioned to think that unless they do something that they are told, their actions are usually wrong if done spontaneously. Something about it felt wrong to you but not wrong enough for you to explain it even today. It’s something that you can’t put your finger on, so that’s why it is inescapable.
My advice is to put your thoughts into the context that your actions were of an innocent 5 year old who just wanted to freedom to think for herself and be happy with the thought that you were capable of doing things without needing permission.
Even if I am off about this, use this idea to empower yourself and be free to know that you don’t have to report to anyone to ask if it is ok.

Carolyn …A dream about a house or a home is a representation of ourselves , regardless of who’s home it is, the different rooms in the home represent different parts of ourselves ……for example you indicate the stairwell leading to the ballroom , a room which family and friends gather to have a good time …the ballroom represents your heart and the people you love in it . In my opinion the woman in the veil and the fact that she walked DOWN the stairs to the ballroom indicates that she is your consience ( like from the head to the heart ) .The colours she wears tell me that you were likeling hiding something , a secret , a little girls guilt, haunting you ….the water and the fact that you wanted to jump in , indicates your need to cleanse yourself of that secret or guilt that followed you for so long …..
It ‘s ok to bathe in the tub now and feel safe there is no one and nothing out to get you , you don’t need to seek help……children make mistakes all the time …it’s over <3

James …..is it possible that at that particular time in your life , you were having issues with your mom ?( or a woman that held great significance to you ) Were you feeling closed in by her need to continue nurturing you ( controling ) , not letting you grow up ? James in short ….The courtyard surrounded by concrete walls signifies a feeling of imprisonment , the fact that you entered this courtyard knowing you would not get out , tells me this was a place familiar to you ,the up ward movement in the staircase is the need to up , the cat ( feline )represents a woman , the grey haired woman represents nurtouring and in the end the cat gets it’s claws into you and tears you apart …generally such vissions denote raw emotions coming out ( frustration, hurt and pain ) lastly ….the colour red in the womans scarf was a call for attention on the matter . Think about it ….

Hey, thanks Stefanie.
I actually figured out the meaning of the dream about ten years later. It was a relationship that went south. 10 years later my mate (the cat) decided to up and split with the kids. A few months later her mom (the silver haired lady) talked her into serving me with papers demanding a forensic audit of my life. We fought through lawyers (maybe the wall) for a few months until she (the cat) finally backed off.
10 years later it’s all good!
Thanks for your interpretation, it’s impressive what truths you revealed in your analysis.

Hi. Can someone help me with my dream, it bothers me since it is so weird.
I dreamt of beinging in a hotel like place where a friend lived, some friends and i were hanging out and I knew the owner was having trouble in regards to the building. We wondered about the place as if lost before entering her room, than as we enjoyed ourselves I heard water from upstairs, like an over flowing tub. Later like a water fall the water seeps down all four walls everywhere fast. We were surprised and i said I would go to the owner and maintinance and let them know, but as I headed down the stairs water was coming up like in Titanic. and was also rushing down the from the top and pushing against the door, the door is the kind that if closed will lock. and there was this girl there telling me to hurry and come back up, so we could go to the roof, I was to scared to move becase the water might push me down in the water coming up the stairs, It was already up to my clafs and cold, the girl held out her hand but i was afraid she would fall in to, but I took it and we made it out. and more water rushed from the top down pushing against my legs with a lot of force. I even thought about trying to go out the window and slide down the wall to the ground and we were about 4 stories up. All of a sudden everything went black and i woke up in an alley beside the building.I got up nd looked around and the budiling looked burnt, and a little colapsed here and there, and seemed to have been that way for awhile. I thought I might be a ghost or something so I touched the wall and felt everything solid. I looked around again, and then woke up.
Does it have a meaning or is it simply a weird dream that I had. Please help me out. Thx.

I keep having the same dream. I am in rushing water – driving in a car on a road across a lake in the high mountains of California. I have been on this road. The water is rushing all around us and we are in danger of being caught up in the waves. The car overturns and we are thrown into the water floating. a man i don’t know holds onto me and while we are floating, snakes – well, these snakes have snake bodies but their heads are actually the hose nozzles – or the part of the hose that water comes out of – and they chase you…i keep pushing them away with my feet in bed while i am dreaming to the point of waking up terrified.

There are definitely loads of details like that to take into consideration. That is a nice level to convey up. I provide the thoughts above as basic inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you convey up the place the most important factor might be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged around things like that, however I am certain that your job is clearly identified as a good game. Each girls and boys feel the affect of just a moment’s pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.
